Program

The opening of the 9th R Meetings will take place on Wednesday June 21 at 1:45 p.m. and will close on Friday June 23 at 12:05 p.m. We offer tutorials before the conference on Wednesday, June 21 morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please show up early for registration.

The program will also be available at the conference and posted at strategic locations.

Rooms

The conference takes place in the south building of the HANNAH ARENDT campus (city center) of Avignon University (the glass building) on the 1st floor. Three rooms are at our disposal:

• Amphitheater N°6 #RR2023
• Auditorium N°3 #RstatsFR
• Room 125-129 #RTuto

As well as the Main Hall between the two amphitheatres where the posters will be displayed and some partners will have a stand.

Lunches

Meals on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday noon will be located at the university restaurant a few steps from the university (see map). You will be asked to present the CROUS ticket which will be given to you on your arrival. You will be asked to go quickly to the restaurant (service between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.).Please check the number of meals for which you have registered. You will not be issued any other tickets during the conference.

Poster session

The poster session will take place in the main hall on Wednesday afternoon from 4:10 p.m. to 5 p.m. The posters will be accessible throughout the conference.

Dedications

Some authors will be present for signing sessions during the poster session or during breaks. More precisely, we will welcome:

•     Marie Vaugoyeau : "Langage R et statistiques - Initiation à l'analyse de données"  info
•     Aurélie Vache : "Understanding Docker in a visual way" and "Understanding Kubernetes in a visual way" infos

Sponsor booth

Sponsors of Rencontres R 2023 will have stands in the main hall. Sponsor sessions will also take place during the conference.

Gala diner

The gala evening will take place at the Bercail restaurant (162 Chem. des Canotiers, 84000 Avignon). Access is from 7 p.m. (welcome aperitif) and the festivities begin at 8:15 p.m.

To get there, you have several options.

• You can take a ferry (depart from "quai de la ligne" : 36 Bd de la Ligne 84000 Avignon) : it will bring you on the other side of the Rhone few meters away from the restaurant. You can take it starting from 18h22 and until 20h22, upon presenting the badge of the conference! 

• You can take a bus Orizo to get closer to the restaurant (there is no bus in immediate vicinity though!):
  • Line 5 which stops at Palais de justice, Gare centre, Porte de l'Oulle (end station). You have to descend on Porte de l'Oulle, cross the Daladier bridge and take small steps on your right. Once you descend, follow the banks of Rhone in the north direction (so that the town of Avignon stays on your right).
  • Line 8 which stops at Université, Porte de l'Oulle, Barthelasse. Get off Barthelasse station, walk back a little till you see small steps, descend and follow the Rhone banks.
• You can walk by foot (count 45 minutes of walk from the University).
• By car.

For going back, there will be no ferry or the bus! However, a bus of 59 places will wait for you at 23h or 23h30. It will stop at porte St Lazare (University), Porte Limbert (Prefecture) and the post (in front of the train station).
